La Maison 20 Degrés Sud, one of Mauritius’ most beloved boutique hideaways, has reopened its doors on 1st September 2025 following an exciting renovation. This intimate hotel now enters a stylish new chapter, all while retaining the character and charm that guests have cherished for decades.

The refresh has brought thoughtful enhancements throughout the property, with interiors refined to reflect understated elegance and an even greater sense of place. In a true celebration of Mauritian creativity, the hotel collaborated with local artisans to design new uniforms, room amenities and delicate personal touches – all proudly crafted and embodied locally.

Despite the new look, the soul of 20 Degrés Sud remains unchanged. Guests can expect the same warm hospitality, elevated dining experiences and homely comforts in-room that have long defined the hotel’s reputation.

Originally opened in 1985 as the Colonial Coconut, the property was reborn in 2007 as 20 Degrés Sud, a name chosen to honour its position on the 20th parallel. Over the years, it has undergone several transformations, yet each has been a careful balance of innovation and tradition. This latest renovation, which began on 1st June, continues that legacy, securing its place as a boutique gem where luxury meets intimacy.
