Beach, Padel and Pure Bliss: Why My Dream Holiday is Now a Reality
Beach Escapes Perfect For Padel Players
If you’d told me a decade ago that I’d one day be evangelising about padel with the same enthusiasm I reserve for beach escapes, I’d have laughed politely and thought you were crazy.
Yet here we are. I’m now the proud founder of Love of Beaches and a shameless padel convert, alongside my husband, who is equally besotted with this wonderfully addictive game.
A week or two of Beach + Padel is, quite frankly, my idea of heaven. Sun on my skin, sand between my toes, and the irresistible thwack of a padel ball nearby, it’s the perfect blend of relaxation and gentle competition. And judging by the sport’s meteoric rise, I’m clearly not the only one who thinks so.
Luckily, luxury resorts around the world have cottoned on, weaving padel courts into their beachfront offerings. As a beach destination specialist who has spent nearly three decades visiting, reviewing and selling some of the world’s most beautiful resorts, I’ve curated a list of my personal favourites, plus a few irresistible newcomers I can’t wait to experience.
Tried-and-Tested Beach Resorts with Padel Courts
These are the resorts I know intimately. I’ve stayed, I’ve sold, I’ve returned, and each of them has earned the full Love of Beaches seal of approval.

Padel Essentials: Your Quick-Fire Questions Answered
What’s the best padel racket for beginners?
Look for a round-shaped racket with a central sweet spot, deal for control, stability and building confidence. Lightweight designs are especially helpful in warm, humid beach climates. I use a HEAD Evo Speed 2025 Padel Racket
Best waterproof padel bags for outdoor play
Salt, splash and sand are part of the fun, but not for your kit. Waterproof padel bags keep rackets, balls and layers safe from the elements, especially when courts sit directly beside the ocean. I like this one because it’s easy to spot from afar.
Padel vs Pickleball
Yes, they’re both sociable and brilliantly addictive. But Padel is played in an enclosed glass court, and the pace is faster. Think of it as the sun-kissed cousin of tennis with a playful streak.
Are padel balls the same as tennis balls?
Almost, but not quite. Padel balls are slightly less pressurised, giving softer bounce and lending themselves perfectly to the sport’s style of play.
Do I really need a ‘padel racket’ - can’t I just use my tennis racket?
Unlike tennis rackets, padel rackets aren’t strung, they’re solid, perforated and uniquely shaped for manoeuvrability and power. So yes, you absolutely do need to play with the right type of racket.
Why I think Beach + Padel is the Future
Padel is booming, beaches are eternal, and combining them? Well, that’s simply the sweet spot.
For me, Beach + Padel is a match made in holiday heaven. I’m at my happiest balancing a morning of rallies with an afternoon spent drifting from beach to spa to sunset cocktails. And if you feel the same, you’ll be spoilt for choice with the resorts above.
And I have to admit, there’s something delightfully serendipitous about the fact that Love of Beaches shortens neatly to LOB, the very same term padel players use for that perfectly timed, cheeky lift over an opponent’s head. I’m taking it as an unmistakable nod from the universe that this little acronym and I are on the right court together.
Happy Travelling, Amanda
